The government is still shut down. The Senate has now unsuccessfully voted on the House-passed stopgap budget, which would fund the government through November 20th, thirteen times. The House of Representatives has not been in session since September 19th.
Federal layoffs during the shutdown have now been indefinitely blocked by a federal judge.
